Preliminary investigation indicates that the Volt, traveling south on Independence Parkway, lost control, crossed the center median, and collided head-on with the northbound Lincoln Navigator.

The Lincoln Navigator was carrying four occupants, including the driver. Tragically, Carter Heise, one of the passengers, was pronounced deceased at the scene by fire-rescue personnel.
