In Loving Memory of Victoria Roser

The communities of Olympia and Tumwater are mourning the loss of Victoria Roser, 86, whose life came to a tragic end on Monday. Victoria was struck by a driver in a grocery store parking lot on Cleveland Avenue Southeast just before noon and later passed from blunt force head injuries. According to the Thurston County Coroner, her death was ruled an accident. Tumwater Police shared that the 51-year-old driver who struck her “just didn’t see” her, and officers emphasized that impairment or negligence was not suspected. While investigations confirmed the incident as an unfortunate accident, the emotional weight of Victoria’s passing is deeply felt by her family, friends, and neighbors.

Victoria’s life, however, was defined by much more than the circumstances of her death. For 86 years, she built a legacy of love, warmth, and resilience. Those who knew her describe her as gentle, thoughtful, and grounded—a woman who found meaning in family, community, and the ordinary moments that make life rich. She was a familiar face in the Olympia area and someone who carried decades of stories, wisdom, and experience with quiet grace.

As loved ones gather to remember her, they do so with gratitude for the time they shared and the lessons she passed on—lessons in kindness, patience, and compassion. Though her passing came suddenly, her influence remains enduring. May Victoria Roser be remembered for the life she lived, the hearts she touched, and the love she leaves behind. May she rest in peace.
