In Loving Memory of Brandon Ruth

The Grand Forks community is grieving the loss of Brandon Ruth, 34, whose life ended far too soon and under heartbreaking circumstances. On a cold afternoon along the Greenway near the river, south of the railroad bridge, police discovered Brandon unresponsive in the snow shortly after 2 p.m. Authorities confirmed that he had passed before first responders arrived, and no life-saving measures could be taken. Police do not believe there is any threat to the public and are continuing to gather information surrounding his death. Anyone with knowledge related to the case is asked to contact the Grand Forks Police Department.

While the investigation continues, those who knew Brandon are left to grapple with the heavy weight of his sudden departure. To friends and loved ones, he was far more than the details of a police report — he was a person with a story, with hopes and challenges, with laughter shared and memories made. Brandon was known for his quiet resilience, his kindness, and the way he navigated life with a spirit shaped by both hardship and perseverance. He will be remembered for his unique personality, his presence within the community, and the imprint he leaves behind on the lives he touched.

As Grand Forks reflects on this tragic loss, many mourn not just the circumstances of his passing, but the life that will no longer continue to unfold. May Brandon Ruth rest in peace, and may those who loved him find comfort in remembering who he was and the moments shared with him.
