It is with profound sadness that we report the tragic passing of Nicholas Johnson, an 18-year-old motorcyclist from Newbern, Alabama, who lost his life in a devastating crash in Beauregard Parish on January 10, 2026. Nicholas, a young man full of promise and energy, was tragically killed in an accident on Virgil Sims Road near Pete Wyatt Road shortly after 5:00 p.m.

According to preliminary reports from the Louisiana State Police Troop D, Nicholas was riding his 2025 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6 northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle left the roadway. The vehicle entered a ditch, struck a culvert, and ejected Nicholas, who was wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time. Despite the protective gear, he sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities have collected standard toxicology samples, and the investigation into the circumstances of this tragic crash is ongoing. The loss of such a young life is a heart-wrenching reminder of the risks faced by motorcyclists and the importance of road safety.

Nicholas Johnson is remembered by family, friends, and the community as a vibrant and promising young man, whose life was taken far too soon.
