Antonio Jackson, 45, Fatally Shot While Sitting in Vehicle on Chicago’s West Side
CHICAGO — A 45-year-old man was shot and killed early Monday morning while sitting inside a vehicle on the city’s West Side, authorities said. The victim has been identified as Antonio Jackson.
The shooting occurred around 6:51 a.m. in the 5400 block of West Jackson Boulevard in the Austin neighborhood, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Ambushed Inside Vehicle
Police said Jackson was seated inside a vehicle when an unidentified individual approached and opened fire. Authorities reported that the suspect fled the scene on foot immediately after the shooting.
Jackson was struck twice — once in the chest and once in the abdomen. Emergency responders transported him to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators have not released information regarding a possible motive, and no suspects are currently in custody.
