In Loving Memory of Antonio Arnold and Glen McWilliams

JACKSON, Miss. — Authorities are investigating a double homicide that occurred late Sunday night in south Jackson, marking the 10th and 11th killings in the city so far this year.

According to the Jackson Police Department Precinct 1, officers were dispatched around 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2026, to reports of a shooting in the 5300 block of Dogwood Trail near Oakridge Road.

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered two men deceased in close proximity to one another. One victim, described as a Black male, was found lying in a nearby ditch. The second victim, described as a White male, was located in the roadway.

The Black male has been identified as Antonio Arnold, 31. Authorities confirmed that his next of kin has been notified.

The White male has been identified as Glen McWilliams, 63. His family has also been notified.

Investigators with the department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit responded to take the lead on the case. They were assisted at the scene by the Mobile Crime Unit, which processed evidence and documented the area. The Hinds County Coroner also responded and later took custody of the victims’ bodies for autopsies and further examination.

The shooting occurred within the city limits of Jackson, located in Hinds County. Authorities have not yet released details regarding a possible motive, suspect information, or whether the victims knew one another. Investigators have also not said if additional individuals were involved.

Police described the case as an active and ongoing investigation. Detectives are working to gather witness statements, review potential surveillance footage in the area, and analyze physical evidence collected from the scene.

“These incidents remain under active investigation, and updates will be provided as the case develops,” officials said in a statement.

The deaths of Arnold and McWilliams bring the city’s homicide total to 11 for 2026. Community leaders continue to urge residents to come forward with any information that could assist investigators.
