Madison Rau Seriously Injured in Crash That Killed Jones: Friend Shares Update
Plano, Texas — Friends are speaking out following a tragic traffic crash in Plano that claimed the life of 15-year-old Carter Heise and left another teen seriously injured. Among those injured is Madison Rau, a lifelong friend of Jones and close friend of Christie Ford, who shared details about the incident.
According to Ford, Madison Rau was one of the two passengers in the Lincoln Navigator who were trapped following the collision. First responders were able to extricate Rau from the vehicle, but she sustained serious injuries in the crash. She remains hospitalized, with her condition described as critical but stable.
The Crash and Immediate Response
The crash occurred on Monday, March 2, 2026, around 12:00 p.m. in the 600 block of Independence Parkway, northbound. Preliminary investigation by the Plano Police Department indicates that a blue Chevrolet Volt traveling south on Independence Parkway lost control, crossed the center median, and struck the northbound Lincoln Navigator.
The Navigator was carrying four individuals, including the driver. Carter Heise, 15, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three other occupants, including Madison Rau, were transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Volt was not transported. Authorities said speed appears to have been a contributing factor.

Christie Ford, who spoke publicly about the victims, emphasized the deep connection between Rau and Jones, calling them lifelong friends. “Madison is a fighter,” Ford said. “She was trapped in the car and seriously injured, but she’s strong, and we’re praying for her recovery.”
