It is with deep sorrow that we honor the life of 73-year-old Jimmie Keathen of Pearl, Mississippi, who tragically lost his life in a crash on Monday evening in Madison County. Just before 6 p.m., Jimmie and his wife, 66-year-old Gloria Keathen, were traveling together along Highway 16 when their journey was unexpectedly and permanently changed. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, a log truck traveling south attempted to make a westbound turn onto Highway 16, colliding with the Keathens’ pickup truck.
The impact proved fatal for Jimmie, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Gloria suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for urgent medical care. While the crash remains under investigation, the heartbreak it has brought to family, friends, and the Pearl community is immeasurable.
