The Tiffin and Iowa City communities are grieving the tragic loss of Lee Earl Krogh, 57, who was fatally shot outside an apartment building on the 400 block of Iris Court late Saturday morning. Deputies with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 11:44 a.m. and found Mr. Krogh suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where he was pronounced dead, leaving family, friends, and neighbors in deep shock and sorrow.

Authorities have stated that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and does not pose an ongoing threat to the public. At this time, no arrests have been made, and investigators have not released information regarding a suspect or a motive. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate while asking the community to respect the privacy of Mr. Krogh’s loved ones during this difficult time.
